Eligibility Criteria for PhD Admission :
PhD in Engineering :
For admission to the PhD Programme in Engineering Disciplines, a candidate must satisfy one of the following criteria:
1. Masters degree in the relevant branch of Engineering with a minimum Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) of 6.5 or 60% of marks.
2. BTech degree from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) with a minimum CPI of 7.0.
PhD in Sciences :
For admission to the PhD Programme in Science Disciplines, a candidate must satisfy one of the following criteria :
1. Masters degree in a Science subject with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60% of marks.
2. Masters degree in Engineering / Technology with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60% of marks.
3. BTech from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) with a minimum CPI of 7.0.
PhD in Economics and Philosophy :
For admission to the PhD Programme in Economics and Philosophy, a candidate must satisfy one of the following criteria :
1. Masters degree in Arts / Commerce with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent. Masters degree in Science / Engineering / Agriculture / Environment Sciences / International Business with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60% marks may be considered for research areas consistent with the academic background and special interests.
2. BTech from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) with a minimum CPI of 7.0.
Eligibility criteria will be relaxed by 5% marks or 0.5 CPI for SC / ST applicants.
